Greetings from Montreal!

Well, we finally made it after a mere 9 1/2 hour trip! We were able to leave Orono without a hitch (just for the record, I could've added another suitcase). The long trip was broken up by several pit stops - including lunch at Sugarloaf, where we nearly took out an overzealous BMW who thought they could outrun the mighty UMaine Savanna. The drive was largely uneventful - with the exception of the 7 or 8 cars that went of the road. We entered the land of the North unscathed due to our capable driver, Professor Myer, and co-pilot navigator, Dr. Harkins, aka Garmin. We arrived in chilly Montreal at around 6:30p.m. and enjoyed a nice relaxing dinner at Boccacino's. Everyone is still happy and more importantly, still healthy, at the conclusion of Day One.
Today, we look forward to the City Chase, and St. Stephen Club Networking event. More to follow. . . -N

And the snow continues to fly. . .

Happy New Year! On a windy, snowy Saturday afternoon, our departure time is nearing, but no word yet as to "weather" or not we will leave tomorrow morning on time. Let the packing continue - I'll apologize in advance, but telling three women that they need to "pack light" is like telling a starving person to go easy at the buffet line. Don't forget the networking business cards, passport and power suits! -N

Sunday Departure?

Despite the impending storm, this Sunday, my fellow UMaine MBA comrades are gearing up for the 6 hour drive to Montreal. Led by our trusty coaches, Professor Paul Myer and Dr. Jason Harkins, I am pleased to be joined by the 2010 Molson team members, Justine Chabot, Rachel Ferrigan, Jon Charette, and Roland McCormack. Serving as the alternate team member, I am praying for the good health of my teammates, so I can duly scout out the competition from literally around the world! The UMaine team will be competing against fellow MBA students from countries such as Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Portugal, Singapore, Sweden, Canada, and many schools around the U.S. For a complete listing of fellow competitors, check out the Molson Case Competition website, at www.mbacasecomp.com.

I'll keep you posted as the packing begins and the snow begins to fly! - Nicole
